WalesWALES 74 - 24 TONGATonga

Principality Stadium - Saturday 17 November 2018
KO: 14:30 HT: 24-17 Att: tbc

HOW IT HAPPENED MINUTE BY MINUTE…

Wales v Tonga For Wales, Liam Williams wins his 50th Cap whilst Scarlets' Wyn Jones makes his first start. Jonah Holmes at Full Back makes his debut along with Tonga's Ma'afu Fia who plays for the Ospreys
Wales v Tonga Liam Williams leads Wales out as the teams line up for the anthems followed by the Tongan version of the haka

Wales 0-0 Tonga 1m Dan Biggar gets a much changed Wales underway, with 14 changes from the team that beat Australia last week. They earn an early penalty as Tonga are pinged for not rolling away
Wales 7-0 Tonga 2m The Welsh Forwards orchestrate an effective drive off the line-out with the rolling maul inching ever closer to the try line. Referee Berry awards the home team a penalty try, Fifita is shown a yellow card
Wales 7-0 Tonga 4m Tonga restart, but lose the ball at the breakdown, Biggar kicks downfield and we're back in the Tongan 22
Wales 14-0 Tonga 5m Ngauamo over-throws the line-out, the ball is claimed by Elliot Dee, who finds the space to put Biggar in under the posts. He adds the extras to put the home team in a commanding early lead
Wales 14-3 Tonga 8m Elliot Dee is pinged for not rolling away, allowing Tonga to open their scoring. Up steps Takulua who puts the ball neatly between the posts
Wales 21-3 Tonga 11m A break from Steff Evans, superb handling and support play and Liam Williams dives over in the corner. The TMO confirms both the grounding and that he's not in touch and the try is awarded. Biggar adds the extras
Wales 21-3 Tonga 14m Tonga are back up to the full quota and are on the attack, but kick possession away, the ball is gathered by Holmes but Tonga counter-ruck and win the ball back 5m out
Wales 21-8 Tonga 16m It appears that Tonga have been awarded for their efforts with their first try, but the TMO has flagged up a possible knock-on
Wales 21-3 Tonga 16m Controversy ensues as despite a clear knock-on Biggar seems to have hands on the ball, he is very fortunate though as the try is disallowed, when it could easily have been interpreted differently
Wales 21-3 Tonga 17m Seb Davies picks up from the base of the scrum. Again, Ngauamo over-throws at the line-out and Wales are on the attack, but lose the ball, then regain possession, then lose it again!
Wales 24-3 Tonga 20m Tonga are pinged for a tackle off the ball, and are very fortunate not to have a red card. Biggar kicks the simple penalty to further extend the home side's lead
Wales 24-3 Tonga 22m Another Welsh attack is thwarted as Seb Davies loses the ball offering the visitors a scrum in the Welsh half
Wales 24-3 Tonga 24m Tonga lose the ball forward, but drive well at the scrum and secure a penalty. They kick for the corner...possible putting pressure on Ngauamo?
Wales 24-3 Tonga 26m Again, the line-out is lost, this time as the throw isn't straight and Wales have the put in at the scrum
Wales24-3 Tonga 28m Tonga show their power as they attack the Welsh defence, with Vailanu making ground into the Welsh 22
Wales 24-3 Tonga 29m Tonga are deep in the Welsh 22, as Berry plays advantage for off-side. They opt for the scrum
Wales 24-8 Tonga 31 The scrum is solid, but Vailanu picks up and drives forward, he's short. Fifita appears to have been held up. However, the TMO confirms that the ball is grounded and the visitors have their first try
Wales 24-10 Tonga 33m Takulua adds the easy conversion as Berry has a warning word with Welsh Captain, Ellis Jenkins as the penalty count increases
Wales 24-10 Tonga 36m Jake Ball is pinged for being off his feet at the ruck and Tonga have a line-out deep in the Welsh 22...and finally win one! The visitors drive forward towards the line
Wales 24-17 Tonga 38m The visitors work through the phases before Sitiveni Mafi dives over from close range. Takulua adds the extras and after a strong start from Wales, Tonga have certainly had the best of the last 20 minutes

Wales 24-17 Tonga HT T: PT, Biggar, Liam Williams C: Biggar (2) P: Biggar I T: Fifita, Mafi C: Takulua (2) P: Takulua Yellow Card Fifita

Wales 24-17 Tonga 40m We're back out for the second half, with Tonga continuing their attack until it's thwarted by a turn-over from Jake Ball
Wales 24-24 Tonga 42m Breakaway ball from Sione Vailanu who intercepts from the Wales line-out and he's in under the posts. Takulua adds the simple conversion and despite the strong start from Wales, Tonga have shown great character
Wales 31-24 Tonga 45m A superb break from Jake Ball in mid-field, Biggar chips and the ball is gathered by Steff Evans who gets the try. Biggar adds another excellent conversion
Wales 31-24 Tonga 48m Rob Evans replaces his Scarlets' team mate Wyn Jones in the Welsh Front Row
Wales 31-24 Tonga 49m Tonga and pinged, Biggar opts to kick for the corner and the Welsh drive off the line-out...
Wales 31-24 Tonga 50m It appears that Elliot Dee has scored, but the TMO is unable to see any clear grounding so we're back for a scrum v
Wales 31-24 Tonga 51m A strong scrummage secures a penalty for the home team, they opt for the line-out, drive forward, but Adam Beard knocks on and Tonga have the scrum
Wales 31-24 Tonga 52m Ryan Elias and Tomos Francis are on for Wales, Latu Talakai, Paea Fa'anunu and Mike Faleafa are on for Tonga
Wales 34-24 Tonga 54m Tonga are pinged for off-side, and Wales are unable to gain much ground off the advantage. Biggar steps up to give Wales a 10-point cushion
Wales 34-24 Tonga 56m The penalty count against the Tongans as Lilo is pinged for not releasing. Ryan Elias loops round off the line-out as the home side work their way into the Tongan 22
Wales 41-24 Tonga 57m Dan Biggar and Steff Evans both attempt to cross the whitewash, but are tackled short. Scrum Half Tomos Williams picks up from the base of the ruck, darts and stretches for the try. Biggar adds the conversion
Wales 41-24 Tonga 58m Rhys Patchell makes a welcome return to the rugby pitch following his head injury. Aled Davies and Cory Hill are also on for Wales
Wales 46-24 Tonga 61m A superb kick from Patchell puts the home side in a strong attacking position. They have the advantage and make hard work of the actual scoring before Tyler Morgan gets the try
Wales 46-24 Tonga 62m The TMO confirms the try and up steps Patchell, but he draws the conversion wide
Wales 53-24 Tonga 64m From the restart Liam Williams secures the ball, Aled Davies kicks and Cory Hill gathers, winning the foot race to the line. Patchell adds the extras and suddenly it's all Wales
Wales 60-24 Tonga 68m Sublime passing from the Welsh, great support play, followed by a side-step that Phil Bennett would have been proud of and replacement Scrum Half, Aled Davies dives over for the try. Patchell adds the conversion
Wales 67-24 Tonga 71m The bench has certainly impacted this game, a dummy from Patchell and off he races towards the try line, diving over under the posts. He adds the extras and his reaction suggests manages to hit someone on the head too!
Wales 67-24 Tonga 74m A solid scrum for Wales sees them attack from their own 22, but it's Tonga are back in attack until Jake Ball again secures the loose ball
Wales 72-24 Tonga 77m Wales are back in the Tongan 22, off-loading the ball well, and Liam Williams is in for his brace
Wales 74-24 Tonga 78m Patchell steps up for the conversion and adds the extras, meanwhile, BBC Pundit, Jonathan Davies chooses Dan Biggar as man of the match

EnglandENGLAND 35 - 15 JAPANJapan

Twickenham Stadium - Saturday 17 November 2018
KO: 15:00 HT: 10-15 Att: tbc

HOW IT HAPPENED MINUTE BY MINUTE…

England v Japan It's anthem time at Twickers…
England 0-0 Japan 1m We have KO in Twickenham on a calm, sunny, dry day in SW London, captain George Ford. Ford boots the start of the game, England playing in their away strip of anthracite as they like to call it - or black as we'd call it

England 0-0 Japan 2m Japan turn over possession from KO and the ref, Paul Williams plays advantage for the visitors, but it doesn't last long
England 5-0 Japan 3m Delightful work from England from the midfield as it goes through the hands of Jamie George to Danny Care who runs in the first try of the game beautifully and with little effort
England 7-0 Japan 4m Ford adds the extras and it's 7 points clear to England just 4 minutes in
England 7-0 Japan 6m From the restart, Japan have an attacking scrum outside the England 22 - but it has to be reset before the first set piece of them game...
England 7-0 Japan 7m It's a hell of a scrum form the Japanese as they breach the England 22 and are just 5m short of the goal line and still moving forward....
England 7-0 Japan 8m Ref's playing advantage and Mark Wilson is pinged for not moving away; back for penalty on far side of pitch, kicked out to touch for a 5m lineout for Japan
England 7-0 Japan 9m It's a pretty formidable catch and drive from the visitors and England are pinged again, this time for offside and it's Japan's lineout again - 5m out again
England 7-0 Japan 10m Another advantage for Japan as this time it's Ford pinged for not rolling away... One senses a feeling of nonchalance from England which is not particularly impressive
England 7-0 Japan 12m Japan scrum in front of the posts - needs to be reset but it's all Japan's way since the Care try...reset again. At some point a penalty try will be awarded if Ford doesn't sort his team out swiftly
England 7-0 Japan 13m For all that effort, Japan come away with nothing as England turnover possession and force the visitors back up to the 10m...
England 7-3 Japan 15m But Alex Lozowski is pinged for not releasing the player and Japan have a kick at the uprights, Yu Tamura teeing up from wide, inside the 10m and he's right on target and has points on the board
England 7-3 Japan 16m From the restart, debutant Joe Cokanasiga taps the ball back into play before he hits touch and England get to the Japan 10m before they are turned over
England 7-3 Japan 17m England regain possession and drive play from their 10m to the midfield before a crossfield kick finds touch on the nearside, inside the Japan 10m
England 7-3 Japan 18m It's a Japan defensive lineout and they do well to not just win it, but he ruck forms outside the England 22 before England clear the ball
England 7-3 Japan 20m So much for Eddie's side smashing Japan - so far it's Japan with all the ambition, and an overwhelming sense of complacency from England
England 7-3 Japan 20m Momentary time off before Japan get going again, deep in England's 22 and look like they're over the line but the whistle has gone - Japan 5m attacking scrum
England 7-3 Japan 21m Jamie George is sent of for infringing to the naughty step, and Dylan Hartley has to replace Zach Mercer for the scrum
England 7-8 Japan 22m Japan finally get their just desserts with a try from Ryoto Nakamura almost under the posts which gives the visitors the lead
England 7-10 Japan 23m Tamura adds the conversion and it's time for England to wake up and smell the coffee
England 7-10 Japan 25m Instead of England bouncing back with a try of their own, it's Japan in possession again inside the England 10m!
England 7-10 Japan 25m Time's off - it's back on as quickly, England with a scrum put in on the halfway line, after Ref Williams has a gee up of Japan captain, Michael Leitch
England 10-10 Japan 27m Scrum penalty to England and Elliot Daly tees up from directly in front of the posts on halfway...and he splices them perfectly to equalise the scoreboard
England 10-10 Japan 28m Eddie Jones warned all week that this Japan side are not the Japan side he started with all those years ago - and have learned to win - which Leitch attributes to the England coach. They truly are...
England 10-10 Japan 29m Half an hour into the game and England have breached the Japan 22 once - albeit coming away with the full 7 points, but with 10 minutes remaining of the half, it's Japan in possession on the England 22 again
England 10-15 Japan 30m Japan charge ahead deftly, recycling quickly and getting the ball to Leitch who runs in to score a second try, completely unhindered
England 10-15 Japan 32m Tamura misses the conversion, but Japan are deservedly ahead; England already ringing in the changes with George back on from YC, Hartley off, And Henry Slade replaces Chris Ashton
England 10-15 Japan 33m Another restart for England; Japan end up with the ball again! scrum just over halfway on the England side of the pitch...
England 10-15 Japan 34m Easy work for Japan and they win their scrum and make a few yards, though this time England retaliate and approach the Japanese 22 - but hand over another penalty
England 10-15 Japan 36m Japan clear to touch and have a lineout on halfway...which they win and breach the England 10m...
England 10-15 Japan 37m This England side are emulating the pre-Autumn internationals team who couldn't catch a cold!
England 10-15 Japan 38m Excellent work from Japan who bulldoze toward the corner, Leitch carrying well, Lozowski takes him into touch but not before he's offloaded back into the field of play...
England 10-15 Japan 39m Leitch doesn't find his man and Slade collects and saves the try, but it's a Japanese attacking 5m scrum
England 10-15 Japan 40m From the nearside, Japan recycle into the middle of the field, getting further over and almost to the far corner without England getting a look in
England 10-15 Japan 40+1m But a knock gives possession back to England outside their 22 and the ball is thumped into touch as England need to have good hard word with themselves. Bravo Brave Blossoms so far!

England 10-15 Japan HT T: Care C: Ford P: Daly Yellow Card George | T: Nakamura, Leitch C: Tamura P: Tamura

England 10-15 Japan 40m Eddie Jones is not taking any chances this half and swiftly replaces Lozowski with his Sarries teammate Owen Farrell at 12; Ford is still captain & Maro Itoje still officially VC
England 10-15 Japan 41m Japan KO but England are deep in Japanese territory quickly and look refreshed & revived...forced back to 10m but still in possession
England 10-15 Japan 42m Samuela Anise, Shunsuke Nunomaki & Yutaka Nagare have replaced Uwe Helu, Masakatsu Nishikawa & Fumiaki Tanaka
England 10-15 Japan 44m Meanwhile, Japan forced England back over halfway momentarily, but England have fought back and are outside the Japan 22, Jack Nowell dropping the ball forward
England 10-15 Japan 45m Japan quickly have England pinned back at heir 10m, and a monster kick has England in possession inside their 22 which Daly calls the mark on and clears
England 10-15 Japan 47m For the first time the England crowd are in fine voice singing Swing Low, but it's quickly stifled by a Japanese attacking lineout on the England 10m and the visitors make ground...
England 10-15 Japan 48m A more determined England fight back hard and have Japan on the backfoot outside their 22 - but get turned over for Japan to kick away possession
England 10-15 Japan 48m England come back and play is halted for Sam Underhill & Ben Moon to replace Mercer & Alec Hepburn
England 10-15 Japan 50m The homeside's possession doesn't last long - Japan clear but not far - England come back but pinged for offside, Japan to clear from their own 22
England 10-15 Japan 51m Kyle Sinckler replaces Harry Williams as Japan forces England back over halfway - but they're caught offside and suddenly England have an opportunity here - kicking to touch for a 5m attacking lineout
England 10-15 Japan 52m The lineout is far from impressive, but they manage to hang on, Japan testing them severely, but the crowd gets behind the homeside again
England 10-15 Japan 53m Japan penalty on their own 5m and Tamura kicks it high into touch for a lineout inside their own 10m
England 13-15 Japan 55m Japan, however, reciprocate the penalty and Ford tees up from just inside the 10m in front of the posts to reduce the deficit to 2
England 13-15 Japan 56m England deal with this restart better and are over halfway, attempting to breach the Japanese 10m...Nowell making a break over the 22 along the touchline...
England 18-15 Japan 58m ...with all the fresh blood injected into Jones' side, it pays off and Mark Wilson bulldozes over the goal line to score and reclaim the lead for England as England fans breath a huge collective sigh of relief
England 20-15 Japan 59m Ford adds the extras while Richard Wigglesworth replaces Care and Hendrik Tui is on for Kazuki Himeno
England 20-15 Japan 61m England have the final quarter to prove Jones right and smash the Brave Blossoms as he promised, in true All Black style...
England 20-15 Japan 62m And as the crowd disband their Swing Low effort to roar as the homeside charge to towards the Japan whitewash after winning their scrum outside the 22, a penalty comes and Ford tees up off centre, just outside the 22
England 23-15 Japan 64m As (England Rugby's new sponsor) a British Airways plane glides over the stadium, and the sun dips behind the West Stand, Ford floats over the penalty to put a bit of daylight between the scores
England 23-15 Japan 65m But with 15 minutes remaining, it's the Brave Blossoms in possession again, with a line out just outside the England 22..
England 23-15 Japan 67m Ah - it's a Japan scrum that takes a while to get going, but is deftly won and the Japanese are within 5m of the England whitewash n the far side of the pitch
England 23-15 Japan 68m The England defence is being well tested as Japan are forced from one side of the pitch to the other, pushed back, make some ground but a penalty goes to England deep in their own 22
England 28-15 Japan 69m A good clear from Ford and England drive hard, pounce well and excellent hands all round allow Wiggy to offload to Cokanasiga to score on his debut. No doubt we shall see a lot more of that in years to come...
England 30-15 Japan 71m Ford adds the extras while Yusuke Niwai & Rikiya Matsuda replace Atsushi Sakate & Tamura
England 30-15 Japan 73m Slade makes a super break along touch but runs out of space as Hartley replaces George again and Koki Yamamoto & Asaeli Ai Valu come on for Jiwon Koo & Keita Inagaki
England 30-15 Japan 74m England try to work the far side of the 22, are forced to the nearside while Ted Hill makes his debut for Charlie Ewels
England 35-15 Japan 76m Hartley focuses the huge drive from England and he scores a fourth try for the homeside
England 35-15 Japan 77m Ford misses the conversion, but the scoreboard looks a tad healthier that should've beaten the All Blacks last Saturday
England 35-15 Japan 78m A huge kick over the tryline is hard chased by Nowell but goes too far; Japan retaliate & are ready for another score, but William Tupou & Kenki (or Kinky as Eddie calls him) Fukuoka are stopped in their tracks - penalty England
England 35-15 Japan 80m England come back hard and are deep in Japanese territory as the clock ticks over the 80 minutes....England 5m lineout
England 35-15 Japan 80+1m The homeside can't quite take advantage and it's all over with a solid second half performance from Eddie Jones' side against his former side - but not quite what he'd hoped for in the first.

ItalyITALY 7 - 26 AUSTRALIAAustralia

Stadio Euganeo, Padua - Saturday 17 November 2018
KO: 15:00 HT: 0-14 Att: tbc

A three-try burst has set up 26-7 victory for the Qantas Wallabies over Italy in Padova, maintaining Australia’s unblemished Test record against the Italians.

Speedster Marika Koroibete crossed for a double in the space of five minutes in the lead up to half time, and hulking prop Taniela Tupou barged over for another five-pointer just after the break to set the Wallabies on course for victory in an otherwise tight contest.

The Wallabies had been fortunate not to trail early in the match, after Michael Hooper was forced to make a try-saving tackle on Italian No8 Braam Steyn before half Tito Tebaldi had a potential intercept try erased for being offside at the lineout.

But when they did eventually start to mount some possession, it was some straight, hard running from centre Samu Kerevi that put the Wallabies on the front foot as he sent Koroibete away for the first of his two on the day.

Koroibete’s second, from an Adam Ashley-Cooper offload, five minutes later set up an unlikely 14-0 lead at the half and when Tupou powered his way over right after the break it appeared the Wallabies would run away with it.

It was a successful return to the national team for the veteran Ashley-Cooper, who played a hand in three of the four Wallabies tries while making his first Test appearance since 2016.

Australia’s only blemish on the scoreboard came in the 46th minute when Italian winger Mattia Bellini scooped up a loose pass to score a runaway try which halted the Wallabies scoring momentum.

In a match that was closer than the final score indicated, the Wallabies lost David Pocock in the 51st minute after he failed a HIA test. Replacement half Will Genia dotted down late to give the visitors the final say.

Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 60m The ABs lose their line out and their opposition and Bundee Aki carries to just shy of the half way line but three phases later Ardie Savea turns the ball over and kicks into the try area, Ireland touch it down and it will be a 22
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 61m The restart is secured by the home side and they kick through Sexton, Barrett makes metres and the ABs are already on the Irish 10m line
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 61m The ABs kick and O'Mahony gathers brilliantly, the ABs kick and clear to the 10m line as Ryan Crotty is replaced by Anton Lienert-Brown and for Ireland, Devin Toner is replaced by Iain Henderson
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 63m The ABs carry into the 22 and look to have found their feet (finally), but the defence is holding
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 64m Best and O'Mahony tackle over the ball and secure the turnover penalty, Ireland clear as Peter O'Mahony makes way for Jordi Murphy
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 65m The line out is secured by Ireland and they drive before kicking, Ben Smith carries hard before earning the penalty for his side, the men in black clear
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 65m Rory Best and Tadhg Furlong are replaced by Sean Cronin and Andrew Porter
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 66m B. Barrett breaks and offloads but it lands into the hands of Rob Kearney and Ireland clear, the men in green then win a line out against the head and carry before knocking the ball on just shy of half way
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 67m For Ireland, Jordan Larmour comes on for Rob Kearney
Ireland 16-6 All Blacks 67m The ABs win the scrum after the knock on and carry hard into the midfield, the away side have a high tackle penalty as the backs probe, the ball is knocked on in the tackle and referee Barnes takes the play back
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 68m Kieran Read points to the posts, obviously he is not kicking the penalty but Beauden Barrett is, he is successful and the deficit is reduced to seven
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 70m The ABs gather the restart and clear to the 10m line, Ireland need to make the buffer larger than seven
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 71m Ireland lose their line out and the ABs attack, one phase later they are into the Irish half but the ball is held up, maul is called and Ireland win the scrum
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 72m the Irish scrum provides the backs with good ball, one phase later Stockdale kicks towards the try line, the ABs gather and the away side will have a 22 drop out
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 73m The ABs have the ball on the 22, they struggle to make ground and are struggling to escape their own red zone
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 74m An AB spill allows for Sexton to brilliantly force the AB attacking side into touch, Ireland will have an attacking line out just ten metres out as Matt Todd comes on for New Zealand, replacing Ardie Savea
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 75m Ireland cannot make the most of their territory and lose the line out, the ABs clear but it was touched by Jack McGrath so the ABs will have a line out
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 76m The line out is secured by the away side, they clear once more and the ball leaves the field on the AB 10m line, Ireland need a penalty soon to make the score easier to deal with
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 77m The ABs are attacking after an Irish knock on, they will take the scrum
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 77m The fans sense the win, but the Irish side will remember when the ABs ruined their hopes in previous games, Johnny Sexton is replaced by Joey Carbery
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 78m The ABs secure the scrum and spread the ball wide but they look lost here in Dublin
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 79m Ireland have the ball after a AB grubber, they attack on half way, just looking to hold out now for a famous win
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 79m Luke McGrath kicks the ball to the AB back line, who attack from their own half
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 79m Up to half way, the ABs are charging forward but Ireland are holding strong, beyond the 10m line...
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 80+1 The clock goes dead as the ABs cross the 22
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks 80+1 Fields of Athenry is deafening but it is done... Ireland hold out and beat the world number one side after the ABs fumble
Ireland 16-9 All Blacks FT: Ireland secure their first ever win over the ABs in Ireland

FranceFRANCE 28 - 13 ARGENTINAArgentina

Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Villeneuve-d'Ascq - Saturday 17 November 2018
KO: 21:05 HT: 11-10 Att: tbc

HOW IT HAPPENED MINUTE BY MINUTE…

France vs Pumas Bonjour from Lille!
France 0-0 Pumas 1m The anthems are done and these incredible rivals are started off with a kick from Nicolas Sanchez, the French crowd in excellent voice with Allez Les Bleus already!

France 0-5 Pumas 2m But Maxime Médard goes down injured at the outset from a huge Pablo Matera tackle and the Pumas take full advantage with Ramiro Moyano running in under the posts with some panache to score
France 0-7 Pumas 3m Sanchez adds the extras and the Pumas make a quite magnificent start while Médard is sent off down the tunnel for a Head Injury Assessment; Benjamin Fall is on for him
France 0-7 Pumas 4m Handbags are not just drawn, but are thumping their opponents, Cedate Gomes Sa starting the fight and Matera getting stuck right in from the outset...time off while Ref's not having any of it and has words
France 0-7 Pumas 5m The lightning French stars, Mathieu Bastareaud & Teddy Thomas showing their prowess early on as they make ground deep into Argentinian territory, and the French win a penalty...
France 3-7 Pumas 7m Baptiste Serin tees up an easy 3 points and pops through the kick to get Les Bleus on the scoreboard
France 3-10 Pumas 9m But as quickly as France make some ground, they immediately gift a churlish penalty, punished by Sanchez to take the lead back to a score
France 3-10 Pumas 11m V early on, this game is full of latin passion, French crazy, and should be an interesting affair in Villeneuve-d'Ascq... Pumas in possession in the midfield
France 3-10 Pumas 13m ...but it's not long til the Pumas have run riot around Les Bleus and are inches from the French tryline
France 3-10 Pumas 14m Les Bleus defend hard and well and clear the Pumas well away from the not just the goal line, but out of the 22...
France 3-10 Pumas 15m Lovely hands from Les Bleus and before you can blink, they have left the halfway mark in their wake with the Pumas hot on their heels, but not quite quick enough!
France 3-10 Pumas 17m Pumas turn over possession at their own 22, and hope to clear Les Bleus away but a knock on comes; scrum is reset and the French win the scrum penalty; Ref Jackson blames the loss on Javier Ortega Desio who didn't use the ball...
France 3-10 Pumas 19m Scrum is reversed and Serin thinks he's in with a score, but it's halted with such verve...
France 3-10 Pumas 20m Each team causing havoc for their opposition, and Creevy just had a drama queen moment, lying on the floor for a while. Then probably realised he was imitating a snowflake and promptly got up!
France 3-10 Pumas 21m Into the second quarter and this match has been nothing short of breathless - the French in possession but at their own 10m...
France 3-10 Pumas 22m Bastareaud bulldozes thru to make some yards, Guilhem Guirado right up with him to make a few more, and the French are on a role and encroaching deeper into Pumas territory...
France 3-10 Pumas 25m The Pumas force them back a tad, but it's Thomas who finds the wide open channel and he sprints to the tryline for the first French try
France 8-10 Pumas 26m Excellent work from the winger but the conversion doesn't follow and the Pumas are still ahead by a nose
France 8-10 Pumas 28m This is without doubt the most ferocious of the insane amount of internationals today - but it's France-Argentina - there is history going back decades, and so much kudos to gain...
France 8-10 Pumas 30m Time off as Ref Jackson has a chat with the captains and we're back to full on crazy mode! France on the Pumas 22...
France 8-10 Pumas 32m ..and the Pumas hand over ANOTHER penalty for Serin to tee up in front of the posts just outside the 22 - walk in the park.
France 11-10 Pumas 33m Les Bleus have the lead finally - much to the relief of the fans - thanks to Serin's boot, but you'd have to be blind to miss that one, or have a broken kicking ankle
France 11-10 Pumas 34m French scrum, of course fed directly to his backline...whatever happened to that World Rugby directive to referee scrums properly?!
France 11-10 Pumas 37m Scrum again - Pumas retain the ball, then promptly kick it away, about 3 millimetres!
France 11-10 Pumas 39m Ref has had enough of repeated infringements from prop Santiago Medrano, but he gets away with a French penalty rather than a sending off to the naughty step
France 11-10 Pumas 40m At that [pace, neither team has the strength to carry on, and shoot off down the tunnel for half time as fast as they can. And who can blame them!

France 11-10 Pumas HT T: Thomas P: Serin (2) | T: Moyano C: Sanchez P: Sanchez

France 11-10 Pumas 42m We return to France and this game is anyone's the way these two are bashing each other
France 11-10 Pumas 44m Changes are being enforced early as the French thinks handing over penalties is a good idea...
France 11-13 Pumas 45m ...and of course Sanchez wastes no time in taking the lead again
France 11-13 Pumas 46m Rabah Slimani - the beast that he is - has replaced Cedate Gomes Sa in the front row...
France 16-13 Pumas 47m ...while collectively Les Bleus have decided they've had enough of not being in front and Thomas slides over the whitewash to secure a brace with utter magnificence
France 18-13 Pumas 49m Serin adds the extras, and it's so good to see the Pumas come so far since joining #SuperRugby (year two & finally threatening the other sides both home & away), since one has to play for the Jaguares to qualify for Los Pumas...
France 18-13 Pumas 51m ...and the French turning up on a far more regular basis these days on a national platform. And I hear the Irish beat the Kiwis too - #RWC2019 will be electric!
France 18-13 Pumas 53m A knock forces prop Santiago Garcia Botta off the field and he's replaced by Juan Pablo Zeiss
France 18-13 Pumas 54m There's no doubt the Pumas could do with some more intense fitness training for their forwards - Zeiss is HUGE! Compare that to the man-hunk-muscle-man that is Mako Vunipola, and they've got a way to go
France 18-13 Pumas 56m Time off as captain Guirado gets some attention from the medics before a Pumas scrum...
France 18-13 Pumas 57m ...and they do well to hang on tight to possession, Sanchez sprints off holding onto the ball for dear life - he chips ahead with Moyano perfectly placed...
France 18-13 Pumas 58m ...but the left wing knocks it on rather than securing!
France 18-13 Pumas 59m The final quarter approaches and Creevy, Tomas Lavanini & Guido Petti are replaced with Julian Montoya, Mariano Galarza and Tomas Lezana
France 18-13 Pumas 61m The Pumas cannot take the opportunities they have been handed despite lurking around the French 22
France 18-13 Pumas 62m Dany Priso replaces Jefferson Poirot (is that not just the coolest name!) in the front row while the French decide they need to cause a little havoc...
France 18-13 Pumas 63m ..the physicality of this crazy match continues, Matías Moroni coming on for Moyano limps off after a quite spectacular double clash
France 18-13 Pumas 64m Camille Lopez crosskicks beautifully but Thomas is in mid-flight as he's taken into touch - tho manages to somehow offload to Fall in the process! This is bonkers.
France 18-13 Pumas 65m Can you imagine Coach Ledesma having a hernia in the coaching box for Matera churlishly handing over an easy three points to Les Bleus?!
France 21-13 Pumas 67m Serin calmly arranges the tee, himself, and takes Les Bleus ahead by two scores
France 21-13 Pumas 68m Meanwhile, Mathieu Babillot replaces Louis Picamoles while Rodrigo Bruni is on for Ortega Desio
France 26-13 Pumas 70m So the Pumas have a 5m defensive lineout, and they win it, and in passing, Guirado steals the ball thru interception and pounces over the line for a third French try!
France 28-13 Pumas 71m As Serin adds the conversion, if the Pumas can come back from this, it would be mightily impressive...but I'm not holding my breath
France 28-13 Pumas 72m With all the penalties and infringements Medrano has effected in this match, it's not a bad thing that he's been replaced by Lucio Sordoni
France 28-13 Pumas 73m M. Brunel rings in the changes to give more of his side a run out... Camille Chat, Paul Gabrillagues, Antoine Dupont & Anthony Belleau replace Guirado, Yoann Maestri, Serin & Lopez
France 28-13 Pumas 75m On the other side, Tomas Cubelli is on for Gonzalo Bertranou at scrum half
France 28-13 Pumas 77m While all these changes have been occurring, the French want more, and make the yards to the Pumas' 22, but the visitors do turn them over...& Priso is pinged for a deliberate knock on
France 28-13 Pumas 78m The Pumas clear Les Bleus away from their imminent dangerzone, and the French have to defend a scrum in their own half...
France 28-13 Pumas 80m After a suitable amount of faffing, the French manage to spin that scrum and clear the ball away for the win
